Drop off/Pick Up Procedures

In order to provide a safer environment for children leaving AWANA at the end of the night, we have decided that there are two ways in which you may pick them up.

The first option we are calling “Drive-Thru”. Parents are being asked to form a line of vehicles as shown above. When AWANA is over, children being picked up this way will be kept inside the church by the East Foyer. As the parent pulls up in front of the East Doors, the children will be brought to the car. If the children are not at the door when their ride is in front of the door, the parent will be asked to go around the line again or park on the South side, walk up to the East doors and pick up their child.

The second option we are calling “Carry-Out”. Parents who wish to utilize this will need to park in the South parking lot of the Church and walk to the East Doors to pick up their children. Parents may wait in the East foyer until AWANA is over, then children being picked up this way will be kept inside the church sanctuary and parents may pick up their children there.

  • Cubbies’ parents must come inside to “Carry-Out” their children.
  • No Child will be permitted outside the building on their own.
  • Written permission will be required for any children walking/biking home on their own.
Weather/Cancellation Policy

When the weather is bad, we will communicate a cancellation of Awana with a Facebook post to the Awana Facebook page and the Church Facebook Page.  Generally speaking, if local schools are cancelled due to weather, we will usually cancel Awana.
