Tom Bethell is a native to Northwest Kansas. He actually grew up 30 miles north of Colby in the small community of Atwood. After graduating from high school in 1966 he joined the Navy and served for 4 years aboard a guided missile destroyer. It was during that time that a naval officer shared the plan of salvation with Tom. Tom later trusted Christ in December of 1967.
After being discharged in 1970 Tom attended Biola University in southern California where he received a BA in education. After graduating from college he married Anne Wellsfry. They have been married for 30 years. Anne and Tom have five children of whom two are married, one is deceased, and two are still in their home.
Anne and Tom moved back to Northwest Kansas in 1975 and have been involved at Colby Berean Church in various capacities for the last 23 years.
They have owned and operated a Service Master franchise for all of those years, and have recently become Ambassadors with the food science company RELIV.
