My mother is a believer. She made the effort to take my brother and sister and I to church regularly. We had nightly bible story readings as little kids and we also memorized verses from the materials. God used these efforts and resources to lead me to belief in Jesus Christ as my savior at a young age......probably about 7 or 8 years old. I continued to attend church and took on the desire to follow through with church and church activities when I was a young adult. I was baptised by imersion when I was 18 years old. Although I "believed" at a young age, I didn't really commit my life to Christ as "Lord" until I was nearly through college. My Pastor when I was college/adult age was a great friend and encourager. We had an early morning bible study one day per week before my job started at Fort Riley. I have enjoyed and benefited from small group studies and prayer. My small group gave me great encouragement and prayer support for the decision to leave for Fargo, ND to attend graduate school. I attended good Bible teaching churches in Fargo, and soon after starting my work in Colby, KS in November, 1986 I began attending and supporting the Berean Church in Colby. I have attended here ever since.
