I was blessed to have been raised in a Christian family from the day I was born. My grandparents on both sides were also Christian families. I made a public profession of my faith in Christ when I was 9. At the time I believed I knew what it meant to be Christian. I can look back now and see how my relationship with Christ has grown over the years. I grew up attending Sunday school and church every week and participating in youth groups on a regular basis. During the many hours I spent driving a tractor I became aware of God’s hand in the creation of all things. I marveled at the visible and invisible things it took to make the seed grow into several hundred copies of itself. I was amazed at how he had placed each and every star, by name, in the heavens for a purpose and without accident. My Bible told me that he cared for me even more than the stars; even though I am but a minute speck in comparison to the vastness of his creation. During church summer camps, I could get lost in watching with amazement, the many facets of his creation. Even today, I still try to grasp his infinite creation. To define infinite is to say that something is “without boundaries” but the very fact that we are able to give a definition to “infinite”, is to place an understandable boundary on God’s infinite creation, and to understand the furtherest boundaries of God’s creation is simply not possible. As my walk with Christ matures daily, I see more clearly how God works in the lives of others, my family, and myself; and that He draws those who believe in Jesus, into a closer relationship with him. I have come to understand that the closer my relationship with Jesus is, the closer I desire to get to him. What a wonderful journey it is.
